Sale Name: 14th Annual Montana Spring Auction
LOT 65 - 1892-S Morgan Silver Dollar
Description

Scarce key date Morgan dollar from the San Francisco mint with significantly lower survival rates than most dates in the series. This highly sought-after 1892-S issue represents one of the most challenging dates to locate in any grade within the Morgan dollar series.

The coin features the classic Liberty head portrait by designer George T. Morgan on the obverse, with the coveted "S" mintmark from the San Francisco facility. The reverse shows the American eagle design with well-defined feather detail. Housed in a protective BCW square holder that preserves the coin while allowing full visibility of both sides.

Condition notes: The coin displays rich cabinet toning with gray, gold, and subtle iridescent hues. Strike details remain sharp on the portrait and eagle feathers. Some light circulation wear visible on the high points consistent with age. Light natural patina enhances the coin's historical character. Holder shows minor surface wear. Refer to the pictures and in person inspection for condition.
