LOT 30 - Spanish Army Mauser M1893 Bayonet, Toledo 1895
Description

Steel blade with checkered wooden grip. This authentic Spanish military issue bayonet features original steel construction with cross-guard and pommel cap. The distinctive checkered wooden grip panels are secured with two steel rivets. The blade is factory marked "ARTILLERIA FABRICA DE TOLEDO 1895" (See picture for actual marking)  indicating manufacture at the royal Toledo arsenal in 1895.

The blade exhibits single fuller construction with straight design typical of Spanish Mauser bayonets. Guard features original inspection stamps with "9" visible on top side and "8" on inside face of the cross-guard, confirming military inspection. The bayonet retains its matching leather scabbard with metal tip. This M1893 pattern was designed specifically for the Spanish Mauser rifle and saw service during the Spanish-American War period.

Condition Notes: Blade shows surface oxidation and patina consistent with age. Moderate pitting throughout the steel surfaces. Original leather scabbard displays significant wear with hole at end and separation at metal connector on the inside. Small tear at mounting button hole on scabbard. Wooden grip panels intact with no cracks but show expected wear from use. Refer to the pictures and in person inspection for condition.
