LOT 146 - 1897 Morgan Silver Dollar Pair, S & O Mints
Description

Silver 90% Morgan Dollar pair featuring dates from 1897, with specimens from both New Orleans (O) and San Francisco (S) mints. These antique U.S. coins showcase the iconic Liberty head design by George T. Morgan on the obverse with an American eagle on the reverse. Both coins display authentic aging and circulation wear while maintaining clear mint marks, dates, and primary design elements.

The 1897-O specimen (in protective capsule) shows moderate circulation wear with even toning throughout. The 1897-S example displays slightly warmer patina with minor surface marks consistent with circulation. Both coins feature the "S" and "O" mint marks respectively on the reverse below the wreath.

Condition Notes: Both coins exhibit expected wear for circulated silver dollars of this era. The 1897-O shows better overall detail retention in protected areas of the design. The 1897-S displays some darkening in recessed areas with minor surface marks. No significant damage, rim issues, or alterations are present on either coin. Neither coin shows cleaning evidence. Refer to the pictures and in person inspection for condition.
