The cabinet features 20 individual compartments arranged in four rows of five cubbies, designed to organize and display individual dye packets at point-of-sale.

The front panel showcases vibrant period graphics including the Putnam Fadeless Dyes-Tints trademark with red and blue lettering, illustrated vignette of a figure on horseback, and product usage instructions. Text indicates the dyes were suitable for "Wool, Silk, Cotton or Mixed Goods" and references Putnam No-Kolor Bleach. The cabinet bears "Trade Mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." marking, indicating registered trademark status.

Simple butt-jointed wood construction with thin divider walls creates the interior compartment system. The exterior features lithographed metal panels applied to front, sides, and top surfaces.
